"Työläiskotimuseot - A Glimpse into the Lives of the Local Working Class in 19th and 20th Century"
Step back in time and experience the living conditions of the working class in the late 1800s and early 1900s with our Työläiskotimuseot, located under the Nokian Church. These historical buildings tell the story of the local laborers and their way of life during a time of great change.
The Siren's cottage, a darkened log building, represents the living quarters of a working-class family during the Tsarist era. The surrounding yard also features a traditional smoke sauna and a mäkiuuni, a type of outdoor oven. The yellow Isonkiven-Järvinen cottage, with its small outbuildings, showcases the living conditions of the 1920s.
Originally located on the Koskenmäki area on the south side of the Nokian River, these buildings have been carefully relocated to their current site. This allows visitors to truly immerse themselves in the history and culture of the local working class.
For those who want a more in-depth experience, our Työläiskotimuseot offers guided tours by the authorized guides of Nokian and Pirkkalan Matkailuoppaat ry. These tours can be arranged throughout the year and can be tailored to the group's preferences in terms of content, route, and duration. The tour fee is based on the time spent with the guide.
Don't miss the opportunity to step into the past and learn about the lives of the working class in Nokian and Pirkkala. Book your visit to Työläiskotimuseot today and discover a fascinating piece of local history.
